  • 有的 introduces one person or part of a group.
  • 所以 introduces the result or consequence.

有的朋友日语不太好，所以我们常常说英语。
Yǒu de péngyou rìyǔ bútàihǎo, suǒyǐ wǒmen chángcháng shuō yīngyǔ.
Some friends' Japanese was not very good, so we often spoke English.

  • Use 不只是 to say something is more than one thing.
  • Use 也 to add another result, meaning, or possibility.

我觉得学习一种新的语言，不只是学习新的词。你也可以认识新朋友，去新的地方，看到一个新的世界。
Wǒ juéde xuéxí yì zhǒng xīn de yǔyán, bùzhǐshì xuéxí xīn de cí. Nǐ yěkěyǐ rènshi xīn péngyou, qù xīn de dìfang, kàndào yí ge xīn de shìjiè.
Learning a new language is not just learning new words. You can also meet new friends, go to new places, and see a new world.
