Xiànzài shì zhōngwǔ shí'èr diǎn bàn, wǒ zhǔnbèi zuò wǔfàn. Jīntiān wǒ zhǔnbèi zuò yí ge chǎofàn.

It’s 12:30 p.m. now, and I’m getting ready to make lunch. Today I’m going to make fried rice.

Wǒ bǎ qīngjiāo qiē chéng dīng, bǎ xiāngcháng qiē chéng piàn. Zhè shì Guǎngshì làcháng, yǒudiǎnr tián, bú shì xián de. Mǐfàn yǒudiǎn duō, wǒ huì yòng yíbàn.

I cut the green pepper into small cubes and the sausage into slices. This is Cantonese-style Chinese sausage. It’s a little sweet, not salty. There’s a bit too much rice, so I’ll use half of it.

Xiān chǎo yíxià xiāngcháng, bú yòng jiā yóu, yīnwèi xiāngcháng huì chū yóu. Bǎ xiāngcháng fàng zài pánzi lǐ, xiāngcháng de yóu kěyǐ yòng lái chǎo qīngjiāo.

First, stir-fry the sausage for a bit. There’s no need to add oil because the sausage will release its own oil. Put the sausage on a plate, and use the oil from the sausage to stir-fry the green pepper.

Bǎ qīngjiāo fàng dào pánzi lǐ. Jiā yìdiǎn yóu, zhǔnbèi chǎo mǐfàn.

Put the green pepper on the plate. Add a little oil and get ready to fry the rice.

Bǎ xiāngcháng hé qīngjiāo dào jìnqu. Jiā yìdiǎn jiàngyóu, jiā yìdiǎn háoyóu, jìxù fānchǎo.

Add the sausage and green pepper back in. Add a little soy sauce and a little oyster sauce, then keep stir-frying.

Chǎofàn zuò hǎo le! Nǐ yě kěyǐ shì yíxià.

The fried rice is ready! You can try making it too.
